Transmission on my 2002 Celica stopped working - Toyota Celica

I took my Celica in to Firestone to have an oil change, tire rotation, wiper blades and transmission fluid change to get ready for winter. A week later my car did not want to shift into Drive; it did after a few minutes. I thought this to be very odd ideed. The problem progressed and I contacted Firestone to be told that there was nothing they could do but "look at it" as they don't service transmissions. I sure wish that they had told me this BEFORE I had the fluid changed! The transmission ceased working and I had to have it towed to a Toyota Service Center where they told me that VersaTrans fluid is never to be used in a Toyota. The fluid was drained & the proper fluid put in the car. Now the Transmission is shifting erratically & shifting hard. Toyota advised that driving the card would be unsafe. Firestone maintains that they did nothing wrong & refuse to replace my transmission.

In some instances if a transmission flush has never been done before and if your vehicle has over I think its 70,000 they recommend NOT doing a tranny flush BECAUSE over time the cluthes disinigrate and its actually the fluid that is shifting the gears. If this fluid is drained your vehicle as you said will no longer go into drive. What is very ironic about this is THE SAME THING HAPPNED TO ME AT A FIRESTONE!!
